I've been with HVG for 4 years now. I used to love going to summer camps as a kid and I hope I can make this experience as fulfilling for the kids as it was for me. I love the camp's sports day and team challenges!
I have volunteered for HVG since 1991 when I was a youth worker. The reason I have remained involved is because I have witnessed the huge benefits the children who come each year get from this holiday.
I am treasurer for the charity. I have been with the HVG for 10 years now. I love seeing the happiness on the children’s faces when we are away at camp. It makes the year round hard work all worth it!
I was extremely impressed by the work and dedication of HVG which lead to me and my family getting involved, which naturally grew to helping with the running of the camp and charity.
I got involved with the charity 10 years ago and have seen it change and grow overtime. It's been an amazing experience working with other volunteers and children alike.
Camps to date
I had a good experience with them, I like their service, the people there are loving, helpful, reliable, good character, good attitude, frequent updates with the parents and I will surely introduce them to friends and family.
His mum is very grateful for allowing her child the opportunity to explore out of his normal environment. Learning how to survive skills in nature, social and people skills and how he can best take action to be as comfortable as he can. For me Angelique I had a great time minus a lot of the walking. But I recovered quicker than anticipated. As a volunteer maybe more structured and devised lone time for longer than 5/10 mins here and there. As it can be intense and may put pressure on ones health. But over all very good.
It is a lovely concept and my daughter had a great time.
Full of various activities. A lot of on site activities and creative opportunities. Germaine also enjoyed the sports day and night walk and talent show.
